Recent stuff
What we've been up to:
- We went with Steve and Lisa to see Coldplay in the Rose Garden arena. We are selective about the arena shows we see, but this one was well worth the crowds, and a great excuse for dinner out.
- As a belated Christmas gift to each other, we upgraded the bedroom tv to a more appropriate size for its aging audience. Kathi performed extensive usability testing to verify that she could, indeed, read Dothraki subtitles during Game of Thrones from across the room while lying on the bed surrounded by pets. Mike plans to add a few bells and whistles when he gets around to it, so he can use the screen as a monitor for his laptop. We also have a media server and hard drive full of old movies to hook up, thanks to Kathi's dad, who is a technical wizard extraordinaire!
- Due to the enhanced viewing experience available in the bedroom, Kathi, Barkley, and Stella completed the seasonal migration away from the woodstove in the basement reading area. We are now officially relocated until fire season begins again. Stella still enjoys hanging out in the basement all along, and she has acquired a sleek, muscled physique due to the exercise she gets having free reign of a large area. Making the journey from the basement door to the bedroom is riddled with hazards for her, though, in the guise of fat, old Stinker, who now divides his passion equally between eating, sleeping, and threatening to attack the scaredy cat.
- Mike and Kathi went to see Wicked in March. We thought it was the perfect way to spend St. Patrick's Day, since the main character was green.
- Kathi and Lisa went to see Hal Holbrook's presentation of An Evening with Mark Twain. Highly recommended!
